January already, it's almost hard to believe!
Clubs Week two was the first week back to school, and we signed up quite a few new members, and have lots planned for the second semester. I will let everyone know once we have dates set.
Things to come:
-New website (this one isn't too helpful, I know)
-Purple Circles Page - where members can be interactive and also find information
-Potlucks & Social Dinner
-Yoga for Vegetarians
-Another trip out to the Farm Sanctuary (if the weather stays this nice, why not?!)

Farm Sanctuary Trip
Sunday, November 12, 9:00am - 2:00pm
We're heading out to the Farm Sanctuary about 20 mins North of London towards Stratford to Volunteer for a few hours and enjoy a delicious vegan lunch!

1st Event

The first meeting went well today, It was sceduled on a bad day, but thanks to those who managed to come out.

Our first event will occur on Sunday, October 15th, at 6:30pm, and we will be meeting at Jewel Of India at 390 Richmond St. (Just south of Richmond and Dundas) All members get 15% off their meal with their membership card, and anyone who hasn't yet paid the $5 can do so at the first event.

This event is NOT paid for through clubs funds, but food is not expensive, full entrees start at around 8$ up to $15, so please bring some money with you.

Jewel of India has delicious meals, ranging from extra mild to super spicy, and have lots of vegetarian and vegan options.

Please send an email to purpleveggies@hotmail.com if you know for sure that you can make it - I would like to have a number of those attending to make a reservation by saturday afternoon so they are ready for us.

1st Meeting

Clubs Week was a huge success!

The First Purple Veggies Meeting will be held on Friday, October 6th at 3:30pm, in the study area of the 3rd Floor UCC. At the top of the stairs, make a left to where the tables/chairs are set up.

Positions available on Executive for 2006-2007 Year:

1. First Year Representative
2. VP Finance
3. VP Events

I have sent an email describing these positions in more detail. Anyone interested should prepare a short (1-2 minutes) speech on why they would be right for the position, we will have a vote if there are multiples for the same position.

Clubs Week is running this year from September 18-22.
Membership is $5 and entitles members to discounts to some Veg* friendly restaurants in London, Including 15% of at Jewel of India, as well as access to our Purple Veggies library of cookbooks, movies and more!
